COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 31 PRNewswire - Xeno Muller, Olympic Gold & Silver Medalist and founder of the Iron Oarsman, the only indoor rowing studio in the USA, is teaming up for the Challenged Athletes Foundation during the 1st Annual ROW BOWL on February 4th, 2007 @ 3PM.
The Iron Oarsman ROW BOWL is aiming at raising funds and awareness for athletes who require special equipment to enjoy the sport that they love (www.challengedathletes.org).
The event consists in rowing during the entire Football game from kick off to the final whistle. Individuals and teams will row as far as they can for over four hours.
"It is a great opportunity to be active, enjoy the game, help athletes with special needs, all at the same time. We chose the Challenged Athletes Foundation because of the growing numbers of individuals who come back to the US injured while serving in Iraq."
Indoor rowing is a great sport for people who are rehabilitating from surgery. Rowers enjoy the benefit of the zero impact full body movement. "No matter how old you are, if you can sit, you can row. It is not necessary to row hard in order to feel how you are gliding along gently back and forth. Rowing is a partial answer for a happy and healthy life."
The Iron Oarsman was founded by Xeno Muller in 2003 and provides a variety of indoor rowing workouts and techniques that are used by executives and celebrities for years. The workouts are finally becoming mainstream with the general public. Xeno won the Olympic Gold Medal in men's single scull in Atlanta (1996) and the Olympic Silver Medal in Sydney (2000). Through his business, the Iron Oarsman, Xeno has developed routines using his chosen sport that have helped people of all ages lose weight, increase cardiac strength, cross-train, and rehabilitate. He has even helped students obtain collegiate scholarships in rowing despite their late introduction to the sport. For more information, Xeno can be contacted at (949) 400-7630.
